Alanna Ferguson
Dr. Alanna Ferguson is originally from southern NH and obtained a BA in Animal Behavior from the University of Connecticut in 2012. Upon graduation, she worked in lab animal research at Mass General, and then transitioned into the veterinary medicine world shortly thereafter. She then worked as a veterinary technician for 8 years in general practice, surgery, and then emergency while completing her vet school prerequisite courses. She attended vet school at St. George’s University in Grenada. She completed her clinical rotations at the University of Illinois and graduated in 2023. After graduation she completed a mentorship program at one of our sister hospitals, Mass Vet Referral in Woburn. She has also had a variety of exciting veterinary experiences working at 2 different zoos during her summers at UCONN and endangered leatherback sea turtles during her time in Grenada. However, her favorite experience was her second time in South Africa where she helped sedate, treat, and relocate a variety of wild animals such as giraffes, lions, antelope and buffalo. She even helped dehorn many rhinos to help fight the poaching crisis. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, reading, live music, traveling, and going to the beach
