Sean Aiken
Dr. Sean Aiken, a native Californian, is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship and small animal surgical residency at Purdue University and is board-certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Sean Aiken served as staff surgeon and Associate Director at The Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City for 10 years. While on staff at AMC, Dr. Aiken also served as a Visiting Investigator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, collaborating on several investigations with the orthopedic service. Before coming to Boston West, he was a staff surgeon and partner at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego for 17 years. Dr. Aiken volunteered his time as a Wildlife Conservation Associate for the Wildlife Conservation Society of the Bronx Zoo and as a consulting surgeon for the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Dr Aiken was awarded the 2016 Pet Plan Veterinarian of the Year Award, a national award selected from thousands of nominations.
Dr. Aiken’s areas of special interest include arthroscopy, joint replacement, joint resurfacing, minimally invasive fracture repair, and knee reconstruction surgeries.
Outside of the operating room, he enjoys paddling an outrigger canoe, sailing, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife and children, as well as their dog Millie, and bunny Wilbur.
